Day 55 I think . . .Saturday, November 15

Rather productive day. . .
Got up, did laundry, fed Jacob and myself.
Went to Tracy's old house, vacuumed/cleaned Sam's room/the boys' room.
Came home, took a shower, got dressed, went to Walmart and purchased grocery list - successfully found everything on the list! yay! (and some of it was cheaper than usual!)
Put groceries away, played Go Dino with Jacob, chatted with Grandma, set up StumbleUpon Toolbar on Grandma's computer, then started working extensively on Jacob's room and my room. We would work for awhile, then play catch for a few minutes, then work, then play, etc for a couple hours, really. We got pretty much everything picked up, and vacuumed, and made beds, etc. Lots of progress!

This week's "events" that I know of so far:
*Jacob wants to keep riding the bus here*
Monday - -I should be tutoring the little boy as long as he's available. I might have a staff meeting though. Hmmm.
Tuesday - - I am going over to the bandroom to help flutes with all-state audition preparation. I have no idea how long I will be over there.
Wednesday -- Tutoring, then Jacob has Cub Scouts at 515, then the Ward Thanksgiving dinner

After this week, we have a week of vacation!! Yay!

Friday, November 14, 2008 (Day. . .?)

Jacob rode the bus home again today, and was still happy about it. After school I worked on "Kids First" (our mission statement) posters for my school. Then I kind of dozed off on the couch. When I got up, I made some biscuits, warmed up chili for Jacob and me, and readied/began to cook carrots for Grandma.
After we ate, Jacob and I went to Mom and Dad's to print the posters I had designed.
When we got home, we watched some TV with Grandma, then went to bed.

Sorry I've been slack!!

I'm not going to try to remember the day-by-day events of the last week, but I will try to get back on track writing each day. Yesterday, Jacob rode the bus here for the first time and loved it, wants to ride everyday. I sent a note for him to ride the rest of the week, and we'll see how he feels about it afterschool Friday.

We said goodbye to Elder Oberg last night: had dinner at Jordan and Teresa's.

Days 45-46; November 5-6; Wednesday & Thursday

WEDNESDAY:
Came home. . .rested for a bit. Tracy called. . .invited us to come check out their new apartment. We went to scouts, where they talked about maps, the food pyramid, and practiced their "cheer" for the pack meeting on Friday. Gasp there's a pack meeting on Friday. . .I forgot. Sigh. When we left scouts, we went by the Sterlings' new apartment, and I helped wipe down cupboards a little. Then, we went to the church for a bit, where we met up with Jordan and Teresa, and ended up going to eat at Michael's. Jacob wanted Burger King - so he had mac and cheese from there, his chocolate milk, plus about 10-15 of my bite-size shrimp. (He was hungry!). Then, we came home, I did a load of laundry, we did Jacob's homework, I did some homework for my class!!! yay!!! and we went to bed.

THURSDAY:
Busy day. I video taped 5/6 of my classes singing the "Thank a Vet" song that we will be using for Veteran's Day. They overall did an amazing job. Unfortunately, I accidentally recorded over a portion of the best class's performance. . .so i think I will retape on Monday. Sigh. After school, I pretested DH (the kid I will be tutoring) that went well - -he was extremely easy to work with, and was super patient as I tried to figure out what I was doing. Then, I got sub plans ready (hopefully I didn't forget any info!) because Saundra and I will be out tomorrow to go to Disney on Ice with Najji (her son) and Jacob. When I got home, I finished putting dinner together (pork loin roast, potatoes, carrots, broccoli/Cauliflower, Grandma made a romaine lettuce salad, and mom bought bread. It was really good. Yay! We ate dinner, and now I am blogging. Soon, Lila is supposed to come over so that we can work on the Primary Program. Cross your fingers for that one. . .

Tomorrow: Disney on Ice with Jacob, Pack meeting at 6:30 at Epworth with Jacob.
Saturday - Primary Leadership meeting in Kingsland at 10:00.

Tuesday, November 4, 2008

Day 44, November 4, Tuesday

Came home after school, attempted to take a nap, but Jacob woke me up! Grr.
Fed Jacob. Grandma had made some. . . lentil stew??? I layered leftover taco stuff from last night with that and it was really good. Talked to Tracy some, talked to Teresa some, watched some TV, thought about doing homework (worked on acquiring the book for free today. . .about 8 people at school said they were pretty sure they had the book at home). . .can't really do the homework until I have the book. Hopefully, I will have it tomorrow! (I have the book I need to assess the kid I will tutor, but not the book that I have to pull stuff from to answer discussion questions, plan my "action plan" for tutoring him, etc)

I'm thinking of running "uptown" with Jacob, just because it's really still too early to go to sleep, and I feel a little antsy.

Days 40-43; October 31-November 3, Friday-Monday

I know, I know. . .I'm slackin'. So sorry!

FRIDAY! - Halloween. . .
Went by Walmart after school to get last minute Halloween necessities - such as candy, black hair color, etc. Came home, rested a bit? (I think. . . ) then got Jacob dressed. We went by a few houses in Placid Acres before heading to the Trunk or Treat at church. It was so-so attended, but not a bust. . . After that, Jordan, Teresa, the Elders, Jacob, and me went to Pizza Hut and had VERY POOR service - -which resulted in a free pizza. Came home, chilled, went to bed

SATURDAY!
Woke up, did several loads of laundry (YAY), took the Lumina to the Jacomes' with dad, came back, worked on laundry some more, CLEANED OUT MY CAR!!!!! Oh my goodness. Read it again. . . I CLEANED OUT MY CAR!!!!! - first time I've done that since at least June - - perhaps awhile before then! It was AWFUL. Ok - so then, I went and even vacuumed it out, and went through the car wash! YAY!
Then, we went to Hinesville - got some stuff from Kroger for Grandma, a few things from Big Lots, and a couple things from Walmart over there. Ate at Buffalos . . . came back. I cooked chicken soup with rice, attempting to follow Teresa's instructions. It turned out pretty good, but I accidentally left it simmering MUCH longer than I should have. WHOops! It was actually awesome the next day with extra broth poored into it to accomodate the overly-simmered-gooeyness. Jacob even ate a bowl and a half of it! Saturday evening, I went to Walmart in Jesup to get loads of groceries. When I got home, I swept and mopped the kitchen, cleaned off the counters, that kind of thing.

SUNDAY!
Went to church. After church, fed Jacob and myself left over CSw/R. Yum! After a bit, we went over to the Cooleys', watched a movie and a half, Teresa made Lasagne. Then, we came home, I tried to get motivated about my on-line class to mixed results, loaded and ran the dishwasher, watched a little TV, trimmed Jacob's hair, went to bed.

MONDAY!
Had a PLC (Professional Learning Community) meeting after school. Then, took Saundra by Kmart, then to her house. Then Jacob and I went to Harvey's to get a few things for dinner, as well as some vegetables for Grandma that Walmart didn't have the other day. Then, we came home and I made tacos. Yum. Then, I cleaned the kitchen up, took out the trash, and decided it was about time to finally blog again.

*I have identified and such my child that I will tutor for my class - -his step-mother is the secretary at my school, so most days he is there after school anyway. I will be able to fairly easily do a half-hour with him each day without needing to arrange transportation and such. I also already know him, he is pleasant. I get a long very well with his step-mother, so that will be super convenient. Also - I asked his classroom teacher (a good friend of mine - - the one I made cookies for on her birthday) to be my "peer mentor," which I also had to pick for the class. SOoooo. . .while I am having an EXTREMELY hard time motivating myself to do the work. . .I am at least making efforts to get the ball rolling to get the stuff done!!*

This week overview:

Monday - - done pretty much!
Tuesday - - perhaps Pre-Test DH (the kid I will tutor), other than that - should be home all afternooon, evening.
Wednesday - - Jacob has scouts at the Scout Hut
Thursday - - hmmmm. It seems like there is something. . .and it's that evening. . .cause I was thinking. . .ok; that will be ok, cause the next day I don't have to teach, cause I will be on the field trip. . .but what was it?? Goodness. Oh well, I can't remember!
Friday - - Disney on Ice with Jacob in Savannah during the day.

Day 38-39; October 29-30; Wednesday & Thursday

Wednesday
Worked extensively at the OSH, came home, cooked chicken/chicken enchiladas, went and bought a pumpkin, went over to Jordan and Teresa's, ate dinner, carved the pumpkin, chilled, came home, did some laundry, went to bed.

Thursday
Came straight home, got the mail (including a refund check from GCU!!!), took a nap, worked at the OSH, came home, put Jacob to bed, made cookies, did more laundry, blogged.

Hopefully this weekend I will be able to get back on a normal schedule, now that soccer is over and I'm "done" with the OSH!

Tuesday, October 28, 2008

Day 37; October 28, Tuesday

After school today, Jacob and I went straight to the Orange Street house, where we met up with mom and dad and worked for an hour and a half or so, steadily. I/We: cleaned out the pantry (yay!), the freezer, the computer room, the living room, and loaded up MOST of the stuff that had been corralled into the laundry room area. Then, we drove over to Grandma's, where we unloaded the stuff into the ever-filling garage. Then, Jacob and I ate dinner, I showed Grandma my drawing class portfolio, Jacob got ready for soccer, Jordan and Teresa arrived with the Lumina, we dropped them off a the house, and went to soccer. This was Jacob last game, and he got his trophy. yay! When we got home, he showed off his trophy and treat bag to Grandma, I did some dishes, started a load of laundry, he picked up stuff in his room, I put extra random chairs into the even-fuller garage, and Grandma went to bed. I plan to try to sweep/mop the kitchen tonight, but we'll see.

Tomorrow, I have Jacob's parent teacher conference at 2:30pm. Jacob will still ride the bus over to JES, where mom will pick him up. Then, when I get done, we will all head to the OSH (Orange Street House), to hopefully get the last of the stuff, have dad patch up the holes, and start deep cleaning, so that hopefully it will be COMPLETELY done by Thursday night, so that Friday (Halloween) can be devoted to . . .Halloween!!!

Monday, October 27, 2008

Day 36; October 27, Monday

I had planned on working extensively at the Orange Street house today, but realized at around 8:05am that I had forgotten about a lengthy faculty meeting scheduled for this afternoon! Grrr. So - - that lasted until 4:45pm. Then, I got Jacob, brought him home, had him change clothes and we headed to soccer. After soccer, we went by Wal-mart to get his Halloween costume, some sports themed wear I needed for school (Red Ribbon week), carrots for Grandma, and a couple Lunchables for Jacob. Jordan and Teresa had also gone to Wal-mart, and while there we decided to have Chinese takeout for dinner - - so, they went to go pick that up and met me back at the house. We ate, watched a little TV, and they left at 9pm.

Tomorrow, apparently Jacob has his last soccer game, but before that I am going to NEED to work a LOT at the house. It has to be done by Friday, and I am starting to feel the pressure. Wednesday, I have to leave work early to go to Jacob's parent teacher conference. As of yet, I don't know of anything I have to do Thursday night. Friday is the house deadline and the Trunk or Treat at church. I should probably call people and tell/remind them about that, so that hopefully we have some participation!

Days 34-35; October 25-26; Saturday & Sunday

Saturday - slept in, did some laundry, made cupcake/muffins for the baptism, went and worked at the house, took Jacob to mom and dad, came home, decorated cupcakes, got dressed for baptism, went to it, led the music, changed clothes, left for Florida with Jordan and Teresa, got lost, got found, dropped him off, went to eat, came back, picked him up, got gas, car broke, waited for dad, made fun of people from afar at the truck stop, got in the Empala, rode to dad's, got in the Lumina, took programs to the church, got in my Aveo, drove home, whined down, went to sleep.

Sunday - went to church, wrote Jacob's talk, listened, sang, went to primary (which went shockingly well!), chatted with friends after church, came home, fed Jacob and myself, took a long nap, folded laundry, emptied the dishwasher, talked to Teresa who was having a hard time, made dinner, went to Jordan and Teresa's, came home, put Jacob to bed, went to bed.

Friday, October 24, 2008

Days 32-33; October 23-24; Thursday & Friday

Thursday, I cooked roast, potatoes, carrots, onions, bread, gravy. . . mom and dad came over. Then, I took Jacob to soccer. While I was gone, Grandma cleared the table and started the dishwasher! Yay!! :) When we got home, I (finally) set up my computer in my room! And yay! the internet works and all is good to go.

Friday - went by the Orange Street house after school. It's getting very close. I promise. When I got home (I had an awful morning and a horrible end of the day at school - the middle was fine, but the ends - bad) I took a much needed nap. Oberg woke me up from it to invite me to the baptism tomorrow. Then Mark called and I talked to him for awhile. Then Jacob and I went, got dinner, and worked at the house some more. Then, we went to Walmart to get Grandma's things and stuff to make a cake for the baptism tomorrow. After the baptism, Teresa, Jordan, and I will be going to St. Johns?? Florida to take Jordan to a Tri-Stake dance. Jacob will stay with mom and dad.

When I get up in the morning, I plan to get on top of my laundry situation, then go finish corraling all the remaining house stuff into the laundry room, then get dad to put it all in the truck, unload it, make and decorate the cake, go to the baptism, leave, etc. . .

My last two classes for my Masters start on Monday. GASP!!!

Wednesday, October 22, 2008

Days 30-31 October 21-22; Tuesday & Wednesday

Tuesday
After school, I attempted to work at the old house cleaning out stuff. Aside from emptying the attic, filling a couple boxes, moving those and emptying the bathroom, didn't get too much done. DURN! When I got home, I rested for a little bit, then Jacob had soccer. After soccer, we came home, I loaded the dishwasher, and we pretty much went to bed.

Wednesday
Came home, chatted with Grandma a little bit, took a couple pictures, put pictures on Grandma's computer, then emailed them to myself. Jacob and went to Cub Scouts at the Red Caboose, then headed over to Jordan/Teresa's. I had planned on getting as much more stuff from the house as possible, but Teresa had called saying that dinner would be ready earlier. Turned out that we didn't eat until after 7 after all, but oh well. We ate, played some games, then Jacob and I came home. I am going to go work on the kitchen, then go to sleep.

Monday, October 20, 2008

Days 28-29; October 19-20; Sunday and Monday

Ok. . .after church, Jacob and I ate some frozen dinner type food, I started "dinner" preparations, and I took a nap. When I woke up, I let Jacob work on his cub scout scrapbook, and finished up dinner. We had Italian herb Chicken, squash and carrots, and brown rice. After dinner, we chilled, watched some TV, then Jacob and I went by the house to get a few things. Got home, I watched Desperate Housewives, put Jacob to bed, and went to sleep.

Monday
After school, Tracy called and needed me to meet her at the Red Hill Store to jump her battery. Did that. Then, Jacob and I went and met mom and dad at the Orange Street house to work there. We did that for awhile - Ricky had some people looking at it while we were there. Then, Jacob and I went to Walmart to get some things. While there, we saw Jordan and Teresa, and Lila. Jordan wants a ride to a dance on Saturday, so I (and Teresa) told him that if he helped finish up the house before Saturday, we would take him to the dance, and Teresa and I would hang out while he was at that. . . So - - tomorrow they're going to meet me a the house after school to work on it. Then, Jacob has a game at 6:30pm. At some point, Jacob and I are also invited over at their house for dinner, but we're trying to nail down time/day.

When I got home from Walmart, I helped dad move some stuff, while also making dinner. We ate dinner (spaghetti/broccoli), I cleaned it up, we gathered trash since tomorrow is trash day. . .and now Jacob is chillin' in bed, watching TV before bed time.

Saturday, October 18, 2008

Day 26-27, October 17-19

Friday - after school, I took a nap cause I was SOooooo tired. When I woke up, I fed Jacob, then went for a walk with Jessica, Kierstin, and Kolton around the block a couple-few times while Jacob, Kaleigh, and Kaden played around their house. When we finished walking, we let the kids play for awhile and I bonded with Kolton. (He is SOoo cute). At some point (I don't remember when) I emptied the dishwasher. Soon it was bedtime. I don't remember anything else significant.

Saturday - woke up, bathed, fed Jacob, got dressed (not in that order), started a load of laundry, dropped Jacob off at "regular" Grandma's, went to Preach My Gospel, took bed to Saundra with missionaries and dad, took a load of stuff over to grandma's, worked on packing/cleaning/sorting, got Jacob some lunch, chilled for a little bit at mom and dad's, went to Walmart and purchased food for the week, came home, made up tentative menus for the week, posted them on the refrigerator, warmed up chili, bread, and applesauce (didnt warm up the applesauce) for Jacob and me. We ate. I sat in Jacob's room while dad worked, he told me to blog. I did. The end.

Thursday, October 16, 2008

Day 25, Thursday, October 16

After school, I went by Harvey's to purchase the necessary ingredients for the Autumn Harvest Pork Loin recipe. When we got home, I got that stuff ready, started the crock pot, and chilled for a couple hours. Then, mom and dad came over and we ate dinner. Afterward, Jessica and I went walking for about 45 minutes. That was great! We are going to try to walk at 6:30 tomorrow. Jacob is talking to his dad on the phone right now. I need to go clean up the kitchen!

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

Days 23-24 Tuesday & Wednesday

TUESDAY
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
ummmmmmmhmmmmmmmmmmmm
yesterday. hmmmmmmmmm
School. Oh yeah - we had chicken, broccoli/squash, corn, cantaloupe, and Jacob had some pizza. I swept the entire kitchen/dining room/by the doors area. Then I mopped the dining room. I watched some TV.

WEDNESDAY
After school, went by mom and dad's to get dad to help move a truck load of stuff. Then we went and got the truck load of stuff. When we got home, I rested a bit, then chatted with grandma for awhile, then Jacob and I went to Walmart, then we talked with Grandma, Jacob did his homework, then mesmerized us with his knowledge. UH - the 6 year old can readily correctly identify all of the continents. Scary. Oh - and he knows his landforms! (plateau, plains, mountains, valleys, coasts, etc) Craziness!

Monday, October 13, 2008

and then. . .

After I put Jacob to bed, I introduced Grandma to "Jon and Kate + 8"

We watched 2 episodes, then she went to bed.

Days 21-22, Sunday and Monday

Sunday was a crazy busy day. Jacob and I went to church (of course). After church I began my preparations for the nights' festivities. I made a jelly roll (and SORT of made it look like an airplane, but didn't try very hard, because Elder GA had been kinda mean after church, so I was not very motivated. Anyway. . .Jacob made his ghost cookies he had picked out the day before in Walmart, I made some adorable cupcakes for Elder DO. YAY!
And dad came with the bed, and we put that together, also.
So - when all my baking tasks were completed, Jacob and I headed over to the Orange Street house, where I discovered that my vacuum was not working (GRRRrrr). So - I straightened up and set up stuff a TINY bit for the party. Sterlings, Cooleys, Elders, and Hatchers were there. Overall, I thought it was a good time, but some times were a little stressful. I had fun, and DO was extremely happy with his HSM stuff.
When we got home, I cleaned the kitchen, ran the dishwasher, swept and mopped.

Monday, I woke up, Dad and the Broadheads came over (dad - to set up TV, rolltop desk; Broadheads to check out couch). After they left, Jacob and I went to the other house to WORK! We got a LOT done - - all rooms look semi straight, stuff at least in containers, etc. Then we went to Walmart to get the replacement belts and filters, and upon returning and replacing items, YAY the vacuum worked perfectly!!! So we vacuumed pretty much the whole house. YAY again! Around 3:30, we home, I took a nap. Elder Oberg called = he had left his camera at my house. . .and they were going out of town today for a couple days, so he wanted his camera, of course. I called my landlord - who was headed to the house anyway - and asked if it was allright for him if Oberg went by there to pick it up while he was there. He agreed. . .and as far as I know it all worked out.

I did all of mine and Jacob's laundry, then fed Jacob, then we went to Kmart and Harvey's.
When we got home, Jacob took a shower. . .and no it's pretty much bedtime for him.
We've been here for 3 weeks.

Saturday, October 11, 2008

Day 20, Saturday, October 11

CRAZY day -- but ended up great. Woke up, went and worked at the Orange Street house. Took a few things to Saundra's. Took a bunch of stuff to Goodwill. Went to Preach My Gospel. Found out the Elders couldn't help move stuff. Lined up Jordan and his friend. Took a gift by Max's birthday party at BK (Jacob was still at the Sterlings'). Went to Wendy's with Jordan and Teresa. Found out the bed STILL wasn't going to be figured out this afternoon!!! Went and had a mini breakdown at the Orange Street house. Teresa/Jordan/Jordan's friend showed up to start loading the trailor. Tracy, Zach, Caleb, Sam, and Jacob arrived. Dan walked by and was summoned by Jordan. He helped a lot. Called Dad - had him come over. LOL. Ok - so they finished loading as much as they could and took it to the Placid Acres house. Unloaded. I had another mini breakdown. I started the shower, and realized that Teresa and Jordan were still on the way! They got there, left, I took a shower, dressed, and Jacob and I went to the Mallard's house for that party. Afterwards, we went to Walmart. Then, Teresa texted, Jordan was still wanting Dairy Queen. Sooooo, we went. Jordan called and invited the Elders, also. So - we all ate some snacks at Dairy Queen, and as luck would have it - Sam and her friends were there too!! It was lots of fun!
Came home, cleared a path through the living room, introduced Grandma to the new couch and recliner, and began to copy CDs for the Elders that they asked for.

Friday, October 10, 2008

Days 18-19

Thursday: started food (roast, potatoes, carrots, onions) in the crockpot before school. Invited mom and dad over for dinner. After school, went by the orange street house for a bit, then came home and finished getting dinner ready. (made gravy, squash, and broccoli) Dinner went really well - everyone ate. . .afterwards, Jacob and I taught (my) dad how to play Othello.
Friday - - goodness gracious! Went to Hinesville to get bed: NO bed there. "held" one in Brunswick. Got Grandma's food from Kroger, then went to Walmart. Bought a OxyClean Carpet Cleaning Pod thing, among other things. Came home; went to the Orange Street house. Tracy came over and we sorted through stuff. I have NO idea how everything that needs to get down will get done! Capme home, got Jacob's stuff ready and took him over to the Sterlings' house. Got a frantic call from dad, came home, we put together the bed - - WRONG SIZE!!! Grrrr. Ok. So... .tomorrow: Preach My Gospel class, try to move stuff, get new bed, build it. . .etc etc etc. Fun. (Yeah).

Thursday, October 9, 2008

Day 17, Wednesday, October 8

Jacob and I picked up the cookie dough order from James E Bacon right after school, then tried to find Melissa to deliver hers (to no avail). Then, we went to the Orange Street house, where I sorted through the rest of my clothes, Jacob's clothes, and one bookshelf. We also got the DVD player from the living room so that perhaps Jacob could start watching DVDs at Great Grandma's.
When we got home, there was not much time before it was time to leave for Cub Scouts. Jacob did play out in the yard for awhile - mocking and chasing crows.
Cub Scouts went well - Jacob was well-behaved and participated fully in the activities. The kids were beginning to put together cub scout scrapbooks. He did a really good job.
After scouts, we came back here and Jacob and Grandma ate dinner. (I had snacked after school and was not hungry). I did two loads of laundry, cleaned up the kitchen, and ran the dishwasher.

Wednesday, October 8, 2008

Day 16, Tuesday, October 7

After school, I went by the Orange Street house to get some more stuff and I cleaned out my closet. When I got "home" I fixed green beans and corn and warmed up some of the left-over lemon pepper chicken. We also had Quinoi?? Then Jacob had soccer (where he did an amazing job!). Then, we went by Harvey's to get some stuff. Then, we ate watermelon. Then, Jacob took a shower.
Then we all went to bed. :)

Sunday, October 5, 2008

Day 14 (TWO WEEKS!) October 5

Conference!
So - I was up from about 4-7am for whatever reason.
When I woke up, Jacob ate, Grandma was eating, and I had a bowl of cereal. I swept the dining room floor, ironed my shirt for church, and played Othello with Jacob.
Jacob and I got ready for conference and off we went.
At the end of the dinner after conference, I guessed at what Grandma would like to eat - and YAY - after she ate it later, she said she liked everything. Whoo-hoo. :)
After church, I rested/read, then Jacob and I went to the Sterlings. When we got home (around 9), I cut cantaloupe, Jacob ate some grits, I loaded the day's dishes in the dishwasher, Jacob took a shower, and. . .now it's now.

Saturday, October 4, 2008

Day 13 Saturday, October ummmmm 4?

Woke up in the middle of the night with a fever - shaking uncontrollably, etc. I took ibuprofen, ended up sitting in the floor of the shower, and went back to bed. In the morning, I started laundry, and went to AppleCare - where I was given a prescription for a ZPak and some predisolone?? (steroid) to shrink my tonsils and such. I came home, chatted with Grandma about our respective birthing experiences. Then, I laid down/took a nap. At 2:30, dad came and picked up Jacob to take him to Blake's party since I was sick. While he was gone, I helped Grandma remake the bed, finished up the laundry, read a book, ate a little, talked to Tara, Teresa, and left a message for Kim about tomorrow's festivities in between conference.
When Jacob got home, we went "uptown" to Kmart and Harvey's. Among other things, we bought the game Othello. When we got home, Jacob and I played two games of it while Grandma watched. Then I cleaned up the kitchen to some degree, and we down-sized the number of graters and unused tupperware stuff. We are saving all of the colanders for now - until she turns 88 at least, when we will reassess the colander situation. I successfully located the Brewer's Yeast. Yay for me!
Jacob and I read a chapter from "Junie B. First Grader (At Last)"
Now it's bedtime.

Friday, October 3, 2008

Day 12 Friday, October 3, 2008

Today, I felt sicker during the day, but after medicating myself and taking a nap, I felt much better! :)
I bonded with several students at school today. When I got home - like I said, I immediately took a nap. After that, I went to mom and dad's to get Jacob's patches sewed on, then it was on to the Pack meeting! It went well, and the boys were adorable! After that, Jacob and I went to Cato (where I didn't find anything) then to Walmart to get a present for Blake's party tomorrow. Then, we went on to mom and dad's to pick up the "book" for Grandma. Then we went "home."
Once there, I started some laundry, cleaned off the kitchen table, cleaned off the kitchen counters, sorted a few things, tried on the clothes I bought at Walmart, chatted with Grandma, helped Jacob take off his scout stuff, etc.

Thursday, October 2, 2008

Day 11 Thursday, October 2

I'm very drained, overly tired, etc tonight.
Got stuff ready and started crockpot before I left for school this morning - stuff got overly dried. Blah.
There are so many things I need to get done. . .tried to sew on Jacob's patches - the council patch was extremely crooked, so I took it back off - decided to try again tomorrow (after trying to iron it on unsuccessfully. (Granted - I'm sure the problem would have been prevented entirely if I had just used pins to hold it in place while I sewed it!
Grandma got lots more done in my room today.
My voice has been coming and going the last few days, and I've woken up quite congested. This is definitely contributing to my overwhelmed feeling.
Hopefully, tomorrow will be a calm, uneventful day - - well - except for the pack meeting, of course - and I can't find Jacob's Tiger Cub book! And I can't find the invitation to Blake's party - so I need to ask his mom when it is! Blah again!
I'm going to sleep!

Day 10 Wednesday

Grandma woke up before I left today - came and told me about what a great night's sleep she had gotten - 8 straight hours of sleep, with no bad dreams, etc. We teamed up against an angry (or scared) scorpion in the dining room, and Jacob and I left for school.
After school, Saundra and I (and Najji and Jacob) went to Walmart where I got various communal and individual groceries, a new crockpot, and 4 Rubbermaid boxes. Then, we took Saundra home - - where we saw the "small child" again - but I left before he could get into my car.
Got the mail, unloaded groceries, rested for a bit, then took the egg crate foam to the Elders (and the suit coat that apparently Oberg _did_ want to at least some degree, but didn't know that he was supposed to take it last night.
When I got home, Grandma and I chatted for awhile - mainly about former non-boyfriends that proposed. (Ok - so there's only one. . .). I had Jacob try on his Cub Scout uniform, and obviously he's adorable!
We re-made Grandma's bed adding the "Cuddle-Ewe" thingy that had been at my house since we borrowed if for Christmas visitors.

Day ummmm 9? Tuesday, September 30

Before leaving for school, I put a roast, potatoes, carrots, and onions in the crockpot.
So - after school, Saundra drove the car over to Grandma's, where we picked up the pants Jessica dropped off for Najji to borrow. Then, we drove back to Saundra's house - where a small child opened the door to my car and climbed on in my car! Saundra found his mother and returned him. lol.

I went by the house to vacuum, then went on to Grandma's. We ate dinner. When the Elders called, I went and met them to get the bed from the Orange Street house. We moved the beds, they went home. . . Jacob did his homework, Grandma and I started a shopping list, etc. . .went to bed.

Day 8 Monday, September 29

Woke up super early this morning, so that I would be able to go by Walmart (to get the treats I promised my students) before arriving at school before 715 for breakfast duty. After school, I began helping Saundra learn how to drive. She drove to Precious Kids - where I ended up getting a pair of NWT $60 GAP jeans for $12.00. (And they fit!) Then, we drove to Grandma's - - where Gasp! Grandma was missing. Turns out she was with my dad at the Dr/Eye Dr. When she got home, Saundra, Grandma, and I talked for a bit while Najji and Jacob played (loudly). Then, Saundra drove the car back to her house, after which Jacob and I went to his soccer game. (mom and dad came to watch, too). After the game, I got Jacob and I some fast food for dinner. Then, we went back to Grandma's. I gathered and took out the trash, cleaned up the kitchen floor to some degree, did the dishes, and boiled some chicken for Grandma to eat with lunch tomorrow.
I arranged for the Elders to come help move beds after their 6pm appointment tomorrow evening.

Day 7 SUNDAY

The three of us got ready for church, and went in the Lumina. Lots of people at church today - 113 I think!
After church, I went by the Orange Street house to pick up some stuff in my room there - make sure that it's suitable to have people move my bed from there one day soon. When we got back over here, Jacob wanted a bowl of cereal. After he ate that, I took a nap while he played on the computer/watched TV. When I woke up, I swept the kitchen floor and did a load of Jacob's laundry. I swept/cleaned the bathroom floor. I got Jacob's dinner together. Then, I worked on picking up stuff in Jacob's room - putting stuff into the closet, mainly. By the time I quit working on that, the lights were out in the rest of the house. I put Jacob to sleep, and stayed up to watch the Desperate Housewives season premiere. :)

Days 5 & 6

On Friday, Jacob threw up first thing in the morning. I called in sick, dropped Jacob off at "regular" grandma's house then went by my school to get stuff ready for a sub. Then, I picked up Jacob and we went and I worked some at the Orange Street house - doing laundry, dishes, etc. Around 1, we went back over the Great-Grandma's. She was working in my room over there going through papers, cleaning out drawers, etc. We worked on that for awhile, then I took a nap. Dad came over and "fixed" the monitor. I cooked chicken in the crockpot, and mom and dad came over and had dinner with us - chicken, tortillas, cheese, PEAR CAKE :),and black beans.
*bought 1lb of butter*

Saturday, everyone took showers, then Jacob and I left for the day (pretty much). I dropped Jacob off at grandma/grandpa's, then went to Preach My Gospel class. Then I picked up Jacob, got him ready for soccer, took him to get his pictures taken, then to the game. Grandma, Grandpa, the Elders, and I watched Jacob's game. Then, Jacob and I went to Walmart. I bought a roast, cantaloupe, corn tortillas, and red potatos. Laura called while we were at Walmart, so afterwards, Jacob and I went out to Ludowici to see her, Ethan, and her parents. We got back to Great Grandma's at around 4:45. I finished up the dishes from last night and the new dishes, trimmed up a little of grandma's hair, cut up half the cantaloupe, and started a load of laundry. In about 20 minutes Jacob and I will leave to go have dinner at the Paulos's house.

Day 4 Pear Sauce

After school, I started pealing and cutting pears. Boiled then simmered the pears in water with cinnamon and sugar for I guess an hour and a half or so (Grandma turned them off while we were at soccer). They mashed up quite well and the female residents (Grandma and me) enjoyed the pear sauce. Jacob said it didn't taste like the applesauce he likes. . .oh well.
I put in a load of my/Jacob's clothes, and then a load of Grandma's things.
Jacob had a soccer scrimmage at 5:30.
I made pork chops, brocolli, (pear sauce), and potatos for dinner. We also had cantaloupe.
After dinner, Grandma and I talked about the many uses of coconut oil (I even put some in my hair!) and I'm excited to try many out with Saundra! (Saundra and I had talked about it at school today!). Ummmmm I can't remember what else we talked about. Oh yeah - began talking about the process of cleaning out the rooms Jacob and I are using. Will start with one box of stuff at a time.
YAY for Friday!! Whoo-hoo!

Day 3

Another super busy day!
After school, we went by the Orange Street house to get Jacob's Tiger Cub book and some other necessities - like socks for Jacob that I kept forgetting, and some more clothes for me. When we got to Great Grandma's, Jonelle had brought over some pears. We tasted one, and I also experimented with boiling/simmering some in honey, sugar, ginger, butter, and water. Not horrible, but not the greatest thing in the world. After quite a long time of cooking, they still were pretty hard.
At 5ish, we left for Scouts. Jacob's den meeting was at the Scout Hut. It went alright, but Jacob was rather silly and kind of embarrassed me. After that, we went to the church for _that_ pack's blue and gold banquet. They did a really good job decorating and setting things up. I found my camera (in the clerk's office). Jacob was still rather difficult - I think he was just extremely tired. We ate spaghetti and such.
After dinner at church, we went to Harvey's to pick up a few things.
Once home, I got Jacob and myself ready for bed, chatted a little with Grandma, read some, then went to bed at 9pm. So Tired!!

Day 2

I woke up at 4:18am, and was unable to go back to sleep. . . after school,I had a special events committee meeting, then Jacob and I picked up stuff from "regular Grandma's" house, then went by Walmart to get a new soccer ball and stuff for school that I needed. Then, we went to Great Grandma's house. The internet is not working on the laptop. Jacob watched TV for a little bit. We got the mail and took out the trash. I got Jacob ready for soccer, and we left. After soccer we drove through Burger King. Once home, Grandma and I talked for awhile about various things, including last Thanksgiving (was it really at my house????), the actual definitions of complacent, ambivalent, content, and gallant, and my online classes. Margaret Bullard called thinking she was calling Jonelle McGauley - to try to arrange to give Jonelle some pears. We ended up requesting some pears, also. I showed Grandma pictures on my Myspace -especially pictures from Deming. Tyler and I texted briefly about his upcoming interview for the Executive Director position that he applied for while I was there.
All of us went to bed around 9:30pm.

Day 1

Jacob and I arrived at the house at approximately 3:40pm. We unloaded the stuff we brought, said "hello" and tried to be comfortable. I read for awhile, Tracy called, and I talked to her for awhile. Jacob played on the computer. At about 4:40pm, Jacob and I went by my house, got some more stuff - including hair cutting stuff, pillows, grits, cereal, milk, chocolate milk, yogurt, and applesauce. Then, we went by Walmart and got a few things - including cabbage that Grandma asked for. When we got home, Jacob continued to play on the computer, Grandma ate dinner, I cut her hair, swept up the hair, changed into pajamas, helped Jacob do homework, played with Jacob on the computer, read some more, and started this blog. :)
